While “tabs” can refer to many things - browser tabs, bar tabs, keeping tabs - we’re interested in a more local tab, tabebuia trees (https://www.instagram.com/p/DGQ_aJdxb7V/?img_index=1&utm_source=City+News&utm_campaign=da84589e3b-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_07_03_07_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c482f52094-da84589e3b-80648119&mc_cid=da84589e3b&mc_eid=UNIQID) !

With pops of yellow and pink springing up across the city, you know winter is officially over for us Orlandoans. Who needs a toothy groundhog when you have beautiful blooms?! These short-lived blossoms definitely bring an extra hue of vibrancy to the canvas of our city.

** Trashy art but in a good way
------------------------------------------------------------

The Trash 2 Trends fashion show is returning on May 7, 2025, at the Orlando Science Center!

Trash 2 Trends is a fundraiser that brings the fashion and art of local artists together with the environmental community to promote sustainability in an innovative way.

Designers create looks from items headed to the landfill, these designs are featured on a runway, and the money raised by this event goes right back into the Orlando community to increase recycling, prevent litter and beautify our neighborhoods, green spaces and business districts.

** The art of finding the right wine
------------------------------------------------------------

Throughout Orlando’s 150-year history, budding entrepreneurs have planted roots and grown their business right alongside our city. Tim Varan, owner of Tim’s Wine Market in Ivanhoe Village is one of those legacy businesses, having opened the doors to his self-curated wine shop in 1995.

Tim grew up in Butler, Pennsylvania, but moved to Orlando in 1985 to attend the University of Central Florida to pursue a degree in finance. However, the late 80’s proved to be a tough time in the investment world, and Tim didn’t foresee the finance path being fulfilling long term. Also, he really hated wearing a tie. As he was finishing up his degree at UCF, Tim took a job waiting tables at both Olive Garden and Pebbles, where ironically, he had to wear a tie but really enjoyed his new knowledge of the wine and food industry. As he neared graduation, a local wine shop hired Tim as their bookkeeper, and he’s dedicated his professional life to wine ever since.

Thirty years later, Tim’s Wine Market is home to more than 1,300 curated wines from around the world, carefully selected by Tim and his staff. And just as Orlando grew, so did Tim’s Wine Market. Tim now has three locations throughout central Florida and is known for helping customers create the perfect pairing for any occasion. To visit Tim’s Wine Market, head to 1223 North Orange Avenue, or visit timswine.com (https://timswine.com/?utm_source=City+News&utm_campaign=da84589e3b-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_07_03_07_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c482f52094-da84589e3b-80648119&mc_cid=da84589e3b&mc_eid=UNIQID) for more information.
